Best Hot Sauce Bottles and Caps (2026)
Make your own: hot sauce recipe builder → Choose a pepper, scale a sourced recipe, and print your batch.
Choose the SKS 5 oz set for included caps and reducers. Choose Fillmore’s wider-mouth 5 oz bottle for its larger opening, or its 8 oz bottle for greater capacity. Both Fillmore options need separate caps; check the exact reducer and cap combination.

The picks
SKS 5 oz Clear Glass Sauce Bottles, 4045-09
A bottle-and-cap set with reducers included
Choose this named set when you want to order the dispensing parts together. The black ribbed polypropylene cap has a PE liner. Check that your order says 4045-09, since a similar-looking bottle may be sold in another packout. We have not confirmed the included reducer’s aperture, so this guide cannot promise how your sauce will pass through it. Ask for that dimension if it is essential to your choice.
- Capacity: 5 fluid ounces; neck finish: 24/414.
- Case quantity: 12 bottles.
- Label panel: 79 millimeters high by 143 millimeters wide.
Fillmore 5 oz Woozy Hot Sauce Bottle, Wider Mouth, SS05-28C
A wider-mouth five-ounce bottle
Keep the five-fluid-ounce format while choosing a wider opening than Fillmore’s traditional five-ounce woozy. Caps are a separate purchase, with matched plastic or metal options. Decide on the dispensing insert before picking the cap: the compatible reducer changes which closure you can use. The larger opening is a supplier comparison, not our pour test, and it supplies no exact interior diameter.
- Neck finish: 28-400; case quantity: 12 bottles.
- Label panel: 3.25 inches high.
Fillmore 8 oz Woozy Bottle C08-01C
Eight-fluid-ounce capacity with separately chosen closures
Consider this when you want a larger nominal fill per bottle. The eight-inch-tall bottle uses a 28-400 neck finish. Choose a closure from the bottle’s own Product Accessories listing. Before ordering a case, check the assembled package against your shelf, shipping box and label layout. The shared finish number with the smaller Fillmore bottle does not make every liner and insert combination interchangeable.
- Case quantity: 12 bottles.
- Label panel: 4.25 inches high.
- Accepts Fillmore’s matched orifice reducer, subject to the cap restriction below.

FAQ
Which cap works with the Fillmore reducer?
Fillmore RC-028D POR has a 3/16-inch dispensing hole. It works with Fillmore’s 28-400 plastic lids, but not its metal 28-400 plastisol-lined lids. That distinction matters even when a metal cap fits the bottle itself. Confirm the bottle, reducer and lid together on the supplier’s Accessories tab. Keep their item numbers on your order checklist, and do not substitute a lookalike insert from another seller without checking it.
Is neck finish the same as the opening width?
No. Neck finish describes the engineered mouth and neck dimensions and style used to match lids and fitments. A reducer is a separate insert that restricts flow, with the lid fitting over it. A finish designation does not supply a verified internal bore measurement. If your decision depends on a particular clearance, request that measurement for the exact bottle. For pour behavior, test a sample with your actual sauce before committing to a larger order.
How do I choose capacity and plan packaging costs?
Start with the amount you want each finished bottle to hold, then list the bottle, cap, insert and label separately. Use a separate worksheet for current supplier-specific bottle, cap and reducer costs. The linked calculator offers ingredient and bottle estimates with editable label and shrink-band costs. Its bottle prices come from a fixed catalog; it cannot price these particular bottle assemblies or an eight-ounce selection. The recipe builder helps scale a sourced recipe, but its bottle-count choices are five and ten US fluid ounces; it does not currently model the eight-ounce bottle here. Select your container capacity separately and check the recipe’s actual yield rather than assuming a case quantity equals a batch.
Does a matching cap make my sauce shelf stable?
This comparison helps select physical components; it provides no validated filling temperature, processing time or storage life. Keep the preservation decision tied to the recipe and process, and check any packaging requirements against that process before ordering. Use the linked shelf-stability article for context. A package that closes neatly has not, by that fact alone, established that the sauce inside can be stored at room temperature.
